Put On Your Big Girl Panties and Build Your Business

I was on Skype one afternoon with my family that lives clear across the country. My son positioned his laptop so that I could watch my 2 year old granddaughter strut down the stairs with her big news.

“Look at me, Grandma. I have big girl panties on. I’m a Big Girl now!”

In the blink of an eye she had gone from Pampers to Cinderella underwear. She was excited about letting go of baby things and moving into a little girl world. Everything about her declared, “I love growing up!”

It’s mystifying why a toddler would even prefer a wet diaper over Cinderella panties? Why is it that she was able to talk in complete paragraphs and yet seem oblivious to a soggy diaper? Who understands the strong contradictions within one so small?

Actually, I do understand.

In my Personal Growth and Development journey, I really can understand how a child acts like a big girl one moment and in the next moment is pleading for her pacifier. Anyone who is really honest understands the fear and resistance that can surface unexpectedly when you’re challenged or overwhelmed.

Sadly, I’ve seen people give up on themselves instead of pushing through the old patterns that hold them back.

Learning the skills of a Professional Network Marketer can be overwhelming. There are:

Communication Skills
1. Learning to listen
2. Learning how to build trust
3. Learning to identify personalities
4. Learning skillful ways to engage and enroll.

Technology Skills
1. Basic computer skills
2. What to do when things don’t work.

Compensation Plans
1. Binaries, matrixes, unilateral, levels and generations.
2. Knowing the number of active team members it will take in your downline to earn 10K per month residual income. Inquiring minds will want to know.

Product Understanding
1. Whether its nutrition, skin care, or anything-in-between, you obviously must understand your product.
2. Where to go for specialized information.

Marketing Skills
1. Leads generation.
2. Social media: Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc.
3. Branding

It takes daily Focus on WHY you want to do network marketing, especially when experiencing frustration, fear, or overwhelm. It takes daily Diligence and Self-Discipline to continue on a pathway of Personal Growth and Development.

It takes Desire and Perseverance to keep the big girl panties on and to NOT revert back to old ways which are more comfortable but taking you to nowhere.

The end result is the same exhilaration expressed by my little granddaughter when she was coming down the stairs.

“Look at me. I’m a big girl now!”
